This policy explains how PlayRecon (“PlayRecon”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit playrecon.com, use the market tools at app.playrecon.com, take part in the private beta or otherwise interact with us (together, the “Services”).
1. Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Contact details, such as your name, email address, company and role, when you write to us, request access or join the beta.
- Account details you share through a sign-in provider, such as your name, email address and profile picture.
- Questions, files and other materials you submit for research, and feedback you send us (“Customer Content”).
- Billing details, when paid plans are available. Payment card data is handled by our payment processor, not stored by us.
Information collected automatically.
- Device and log data, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page and timestamps.
- Product usage data, such as which features are used and how often.
- Data from cookies and similar technologies, described in section 9.
Public market data. The PlayRecon dataset is built from publicly available information about games, storefronts and companies. Where public sources include personal data, such as developer names or public user reviews, we process it only for market research and statistics.
2. How we use information
- To provide, operate and maintain the Services.
- To run research on your questions and deliver the results to you.
- To communicate with you about the Services, the beta and your requests.
- To understand usage, fix problems and improve the Services.
- To keep the Services secure and prevent abuse.
- To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not use Customer Content to train AI models, and we do not show it to other customers.
3. Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Services and in market research, your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that act on our behalf, such as hosting and content delivery, analytics, email, payment processing and AI model providers, under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing their services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of PlayRecon, our users or others.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
5. AI processing
Research on your questions is performed by software agents that use third-party AI models. Your questions and related materials are sent to those providers only to produce your results, under terms that do not allow them to use the data to train their models.
6. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
7. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services and for the purposes described here, then delete or anonymise it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit and restricted access to personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and local storage for essential functions such as keeping you signed in, to remember preferences such as the colour theme, and for analytics that tell us how the Services are used. You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some of them may affect how the Services work.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, write to hello@playrecon.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Children
The Services are intended for professionals and are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, let you know through the Services or by email.
13. Contact
